A star from ITV2’s The Only Way is Way is Essex won £10,000 for a Woodford Green charity last night on television game show, Family Fortunes.
James ‘Arg’ Argent, of Woodford Green, pledged the prize money to hospice, Haven House, in High Road, to help life-limited children and their families.
James has been tweeting his fundraising efforts to his followers on social networking site, Twitter, saying; “£10,000 for Haven House Children’s Hospice! Can you believe it ...I delivered when it seemed impossible.”
Mike Palfreman, chief executive at the hospice, said: “We are most grateful to James and the Argent family for raising this fantastic amount – what a brilliant way to kick-off our tenth birthday year.”
Since 2003, Haven House has been providing specialist care for children and young people as well as a range of support for families, including day, short break and end-of-life care.
