Two teenagers were robbed for their mobile phones on Monday by a man who said he had a knife.
Police said the girl and boy, both 15, were chatting behind Simmons newsagents, in Fencepiece Road, Hainault, when they were approached by a man who demanded they hand over their phones.
He then escaped with a white iPhone 5 and a black Samsung Galaxy down Fencepiece Road towards Barkingside.
He is described as white, aged between 20 and 25 and 5ft 10in tall. He was wearing a black T-shirt with grey jogging bottoms and had short black hair, stubble and spoke with an Irish accent.
