A 17-year-old has been arrested for trespassing – while recovering from “serious electrical burns” in hospital – after he was found near the railway line at Ilford station.
The teenager, from Chadwell Heath, is thought to have fallen from a stationary train near Cranbrook Road on May 27, causing “life-changing injuries”.
He was arrested last week at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel and released on bail until July 9.
Though the exact circumstances of how he was injured are not yet known, it is believed he received the shock from the overhead line as there is no electrified third rail on the Ilford line.
