An Ilford all-through school has been awarded a place on a Mayor of London-run scheme recognising the capital’s top improvers.
Isaac Newton Academy is now part of the Mayor of London’s School for Success programme – of which only around 6pc of London schools are part of.
Schools are assessed to join the programme based on high levels of progress with low prior attaining pupils and are encouraged to share their learning with other schools in the network.
Interim principal Jo Spencer said: “We are incredibly honoured to have been recognised by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan and his Schools for Success Programme.
“We started Isaac Newton Academy with an incredibly bold vision: the highest aspirations and outcomes for all.
The school was invited to an award ceremony at City Hall earlier this month.
Mayor Khan said: “I’d like to congratulate Isaac Newton Academy for the fantastic work of their staff and pupils in the last year.”
