Two brothers-in-law have appeared in court charged with terror offences.
Ahmed Aweys, 32, of Redbridge, and Abdulaziz Omer Munye, 26, of Romford, confirmed their personal details and their Somali nationalities as they appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
Aweys has been charged with three offences of dissemination of terrorist publications under section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006, while Munye has been charged with one offence under section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Both men were ordered to next appear in custody at the Old Bailey on August 31.
Scotland Yard has said the charges stem from an ongoing operation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.
