A charitable organisation will support a special day of action to mark the second anniversary of the death of Ilford resident, Jimmy Mubenga.
Redbridge Equalities and Community Council, Woodford Avenue, Gants Hill will be supporting the day and protesting in central London after the Angolan asylum seeker died on October 12, 2010 after aggressive restraint by G4S guards.
After 18 months deliberation, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), decided not to prosecute anyone for his death.
Diana Neslen, vice chair of the council, said: “We wish to place on record our condemnation of the action of G4S employees, of the company itself and of the perverse decision of the CPS not to prosecute.
“Our thoughts are with Jimmy Mubenga’s widow and children at this sad time.”
Protesters will be gathering outside the offices of the CPS, Southwark Bridge, London between 11am-1pm and from 2-4pm outside G4S headquarters, Victoria Street on Friday.
