Part of Cranbrook Road, a few seconds walk from Gants Hill Tube station, was closed when police were called to reports of a fight at around 5.30pm.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed an 18-year-old was treated at the scene for non life-threatening injuries, while another male was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.

He said: “Some early calls to us seemed to suggest this was a stabbing, but we can confirm the victim was checked at the scene by the London Ambulance Service and this is not the case.”
