Officers investigating a stabbing yards from a school in Chadwell Heath have said they are looking for a group of suspects.

A spokesman for the Met Police said the incident, which happened yesterday in Gresham Drive, was believed to have taken place following a fight just before 4pm yesterday.

A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering with a single stab wound to the torso.

He was said to be in a “critical but stable” condition today.

A search of the area was launched with the assistance of the Met’s police helicopter.
