In the last six months, CCTV cameras in Ilford have helped with 818 incidents including 50 violent crimes.
Thanks to HD cameras and the staff who monitor them at the Ley Street control room, 200 arrests have been made, 17 of which were drug-related.
A council spokesman said Redbridge has one of the most advanced council CCTV systems in the country, which helps to keep visitors and residents safe.
“Our CCTV control room links up more than 250 cameras across Redbridge and over the past three years has assisted or led to more than 3,200 arrests,” he said.
“Our control room is staffed seven days a week, 365 days a year.
CCTV staff work directly with the police and the council’s enforcement teams.
As well as stationary cameras, the council have mobile CCTV and a roving ANPR van which is regularly used in joint police operations.
Cameras led to 30 lots of £400 fly-tipping fines being issued and helped reunite 16 missing children with their guardians.
