A man in his 70s reversed a car at slow speed into a house in North Street, Romford on Tuesday afternoon.
The driver was taken to Queen’s Hospital, Rom Valley Way, where he received treatment.
None of his injuries were believed to be significant, according to a Met Police spokesman.
An ambulance crew and a hazardous response team were called to the scene at 12:56pm.
The police spokesperson added: “There was no structural damage to the property.”
Alec Coles, 84, saw the accident when he was having his hair cut.
He said: “I was in the hair dressers where the accident happened, and the driver pulled outside hairdressers.
“He suddenly went forward and then back across the road - it seemed as though his accelerator got stuck. He was going fast enough to have a big accident.”
