Jogger dies after being hit by car in Chigwell Rise

A jogger has died after being hit by a car yesterday (Sunday) morning.
The woman in her 40s, from Woodford, died at the scene after the crash just after 8am at Chigwell Rise, Chigwell.
Police said the car involved was a blue Skoda, which then collided with a tree.
Passengers in the vehicle were treated for slight injuries and the 18-year-old driver was arrested in connection with the crash.
He was bailed until September 5 pending further enquiries.
The road was closed for five hours while initial forensic investigations were carried out.
