A subway could be turned into an Iron Age inspired walkway after an artist released his initial ideas for an art installation.
Tony Stallard wants to turn the subway, which passes under Winston Way, Ilford, into a landscape inspired by Ilford’s history by using powerful blue lights.
About �28,000 was allocated towards a public piece of art as part of a new school building at Winston Way Primary School, Winston Way, Ilford. The underpass links the school to the High Road.
The design has not yet been finalised and a workshop with children at the school was held with Mr Stallard last month. He plans to incorporate the children’s’ ideas into the final design.
