An Ilford man sentenced to four years in a Duabi jail for drugs consumption is to have an appeal hearing today against the prison term.
Suneet Jeerh, 25, was jailed in April along with friends Grant Cameron and Karl Williams, both of Wanstead.
All three had pleaded not guilty to drugs charges.
They were imprisoned for seven months before trial and claim they were tortured, beaten and threatened by police after being arrested.
The next appeal hearing is today, when the authorities will defend Mr Jeerh’s sentence.
