A six-year-old girl who was in a car when it was stolen has been found safe and well.

At around 6.30pm today (Tuesday), the girl’s father met with an unknown man in Leyton High Road, with a view to selling his car.

The man jumped into the car and drove away, thought to be heading towards Chadwell Heath. The little girl was on the back seat.

Police issued an urgent appeal and the youngster was found at 9pm in the Leyton area.

There have been no arrests.
