A fire above a shop is being treated as suspicious as firefighters and police continue to investigate its cause.
Firefighters were alerted at 5.12pm to the incident in Heron Mews, Ilford, and helped a woman escape the property after a man had escaped earlier.
The man returned and was arrested by police, according to firefighters.
Fire investigators are at the scene, where two rooms were found alight by firefighters.
No one was seriously injured.
