Ella Hysom, who suffers from depression, was last seen in Clements Road, Ilford at about 1.20pm.

Her mother Alison and father Tim, who are from Colchester, pleaded for anyone who may have seen her to come forward.

Mrs Hysom said: “Ella please get in contact we love you so much. You are so loved by all your friends and family we just want you back. If you are seeing this darling, please get in touch.”

Ella is described as white, 5ft 7ins and was wearing blue jeans, a green hooded jumper and Ugg boots.

She was visiting the Goodmayes area where she is being treated for depression and is described as confident and attractive.

Mrs Hysom said: “She’s really gregarious and outgoing - she’s just a lovely person. “She has been suffering from depression and is likely to be anxious and displaying signs of being anxious.”

Her parents, who have two other children, said they found out she was missing after a phone call from a hospital.

Mr Hysom said: “She can be extremely confident and friendly might approach people because of that. If that’s happened please let police know.

“We are trying to stay as strong as possible. Sitting crying is not going to help anybody but it’s difficult.”

An extensive police search, led by Redbridge police, has been launched, including two specialist Met search units.

DI John Delaney said: “At this stage there’s no evidence to suggest any suspicion of foul play. We are treating this matter seriously lots of resources have been deployed.

“We are concerned for her wellbeing and are appealing for members of the public, especially in the Redbridge area, who may have seen her in Ilford town centre.

Anyone with information about Ella’s whereabouts should call the non-emergency police number on 101 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
