A campaign to raise awareness of disability hate crime has been launched by Redbridge Council today (Monday).

Following on from Disability Awareness Day yesterday, the council has launched a two-week social media push to highlight the importance of reporting incidents.

A spokeswoman said it was “one of the most unreported hate crimes”.

She urged people to visit the council’s hate crime page on the Redbridgei website, which explains about hate crime and how to report it.

The council will be tweeting using the hashtag #noh8crime during the next fortnight.
