A ground-breaking ceremony is taking place this morning as Redbridge Council kicks off a new programme to tackle the borough’s housing crisis.
The council is building new flats and houses at the former Manford Way housing office in Hainault.
The scheme, supported by funding from the Greater London Authority (GLA) and the council’s own housing revenue account resources, will include one three-bedroom house, one three-bedroom flat and seven two-bedroom flats.
Demolition of the former office started at the beginning of September, and the council plans to finish building by the end of March 2015.
