A person who was hit by a train at Wanstead Tube station on Saturday is in a critical but stable condition in hospital.
A British Transport Police spokesman confirmed they were called to Wanstead Tube station at 11.18am to reports of a person being hit by a train.
The person was taken to an east London hospital, where they are still being treated for life-changing injuries.
Eyewitnesses have told the Recorder they saw a woman being treated at the scene by paramedics.
Officers are not treating the incident as suspicious.
There was a large police and ambulance presence outside the station and the Central Line was closed between Leytonstone and Newbury Park until the early afternoon.
The London Air Ambulance was called, and landed in George Green, opposite the station.
