Woodford Green estate - where stabbing victim was found - is police priority

A Redbridge Police chief has said the Orchard Estate, in Woodford Green, is his main focus - the same week a teenager was found there stabbed.
Speaking at a briefing yesterday, Ch Insp John Fish said the estate and parts of Hainault were “the spear point” of his priorities.
Redbridge Police have placed a criminal behaviour order (CBO) on one person forbidding them to enter the Orchard Esate, and have another 18 CBOs granted by the court.
Ch Insp Fish confirmed the CBOs were “exclusively around those areas”.
CBOs replaced anti social behaviour orders last year, and require the defendant to abide by certain conditions otherwise they will be arrested.
Ch Insp Fish continued: “If we look at where violent incidents are occurring, in the Orchard Estate and in Hainault, they are the spear point of my priorities.
“There has been more than one stabbing there.”
One of the victims of the double stabbing on Monday, in George Lane, South Woodford, was found on the estate at around midnight.
Ch Insp Fish commented: “Likely this time, and most of the time with drug problems here, it is a territorial dispute between drug dealers.
“But I want to make clear, it does not matter if you have a criminal record, if you have been stabbed we will help you.”
So far no arrests have been made over the George Lane stabbings where two boys, aged 16 and 18, were taken to hospital with serious wounds.
Anyone with information should call Redbridge CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
