Love might not be in the air, after police made a formal representation against a Valentine’s day-themed event in Goodmayes.
Ayodeji Dada applied for a Temporary Event Notice to put on an evening of entertainment, shisha, drinks and food in Goodmayes Road on Tuesday, February 12.
Pc Oisin Daly, requested that Redbridge Council’s licensing sub reject the application citing public safety and the prevention of crime and disorder.
“The venue and management are currently under investigation for offences under the licensing act,” he said.
“The venue has been operating without a licence for at least six months, during that period the venue has sold alcohol and potentially provided unlawful regulated entertainment.
“Police have no faith that the operator will adequately risk assess the event, there are concerns around fire safety and security management which could present a risk to members of the public.”
The licensing sub-committee will decide on the application today (Monday, February, 11).
If the plan gets the green light the Valentine’s Day couples and customer night will run from 8pm until 3am the following day.
