A couple in their 80s had medals from India and Palestine stolen from their home while they were asleep.

The burglars also took a Sony digital camera and costume jewellery, along with the three war medals.

They discovered their home, in Redbridge Lane East, Redbridge, had been broken into when they awoke at around 10.30am on Wednesday.

It is believed the burglars got into the house through an unlocked door.

Anyone with information should call Redbridge Police on 020 8345 2680 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
