Stabbing of man found in a bush in Ilford park deemed ‘non-suspicious’

The case of a man who was found stabbed in the neck in a park bush earlier this week has been deemed non-suspicious by investigators.
On Tuesday, the Recorder reported that a man in his 80s had been found in a “fully submerged in a bush” in South Park, Ilford.
He had sustained a stab wound to his neck.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed: “The man in his 80s was taken to an east London hospital. He remains in hospital in a stable condition, his injuries are not life-threatening.
“An investigation has been carried out by officers at Ilford CID who are now satisfied the matter is non-suspicious.”
A 63-year-old man had been arrested during the course of the investigation but has now been released without charge.
