Prostitutes and kerb crawlers arrested in Ilford

Three prostitutes and three kerb crawlers were arrested during a night time police operation last week.

Operation Clear Light, which focuses on prostitution and anti-social behaviour, was conducted for three nights starting on Wednesday of last week.

It focused on the Ilford Lane area of Ilford.

The three women were all charged, and together with one of the men, appeared in court. The other two men were issued with formal police cautions.

Sgt Lee Wilkinson, from Loxford Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We’ve also just reached our 50th arrest for Operation Clear Light.”
