A strong message of hope was sent out to victims of gender-based violence on Friday at the launch of a new service.
Women threatened by domestic abuse, sexual exploitation and harassment will get more support from the Redbridge Integrated Violence Against Women and Girls Service (VAWGS).
Community leaders speaking at the event said in one voice “we can support you”.
Council leader Cllr Jas Athwal said: “It will save lives and it will make a real difference.”
During the past two years and a half years around seven victims, including two children, have died as a result of violence mainly by partners or ex-partners.
