A 24-year-old man has been charged with the attempted murder of a police officer outside Ilford train station.

Daniel Adeyemi, of Bedford Road, Ilford, has also been charged with possession of a bladed article and common assault against another police officer.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at City of Highbury Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Monday, November 26.

The charges are in connection with an incident outside the railway station in Cranbrook Road, Ilford on the evening of Friday, November 23 when a British Transport Police (BTP) officer suffered a knife wound.

He was taken to hospital but BTP have confirmed that the officer is now recovering at home.
