Do you recognise this man? Police want to speak to him after a 50-year-old was knifed at Snaresbrook Underground Station in October.

British Transport Police have already put out a witness appeal, and today they released a CCTV image of a man they believe was at the scene.

The victim got into an argument with a group of boys – who he did not know – on the Central Line, at around 1.20am on October 22.

When the train arrived at Snaresbrook Tube station, the man and the other passengers approached the barriers and one of the teenagers slashed the man in the leg with a knife.

He sustained a serious injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The man has since been discharged.

Investigating officer Det Con Jon Howlett said: “I would like to speak to the man in the CCTV image as he may have information which could help with our investigation. I would also like to hear from anyone who recognises the man or can identify him.”

If you have any information please contact me by calling 0800 40 50 40 or texting 61016 quoting reference 225 28/10/2016.
