A 52-year-old man has been found guilty of raping a woman in Woodford Green after meeting her to take her for a night out.

Colin Blake was convicted at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday of rape and sexual assault.

Blake, described by police as a “dangerous and predatory rapist”, was found guilty at an earlier trial of raping a girl in Hackney in 2010.

‘No remorse’

He had started a relationship with the woman and in March 2012, he called her and said he was going to take her for a night out.

On arriving at her home, Blake asked if he could come in while she got ready.

He then began to demand sex, which the victim refused.

However, Blake forced her into the bedroom before raping her twice during the course of the night.

The court was also told how Blake had been in a relationship with a relative of his other victim.

He called the girl and arranged to meet her on the pretence of buying her some clothing.

Instead, he drove her to an address in Hackney before raping her and driving her back to a relative’s address.

Det Con Dal Riyat, who led the investigation by the Metropolitan Police’s Sapphire Command, said: “He has shown no remorse for the pain and suffering he has inflicted on these women.

“I hope the fact that he has been found guilty will go some way to gaining closure for his victims.”

Blake, of Ascot Road, Watford, was convicted of one count of rape and one of sexual assault on Friday and two counts of rape at the earlier trial.

He will be sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on June 21.
