Two of the borough’s main musical groups are combining for a concert to promote Redbridge’s young musicians.

Redbridge Music Society is hosting an event featuring the students of Redbridge Music Service on Tuesday.

Performing in the Lambourne Room at Redbridge Town Hall, High Road, Ilford, will be a jazz ensemble, oboe quartet and several percussion soloists.

David Bird, secretary of the Music Society, explained: “A central objective of the society is to encourage and support young musicians by providing a performance platform for them in a friendly and appreciative environment.”

Mr Bird added this concert has now become an annual fixture in both groups’ calendars.

The concert will start at 8pm. Tickets are available on the door, £7 for members and £10 for families.
