Archant

Commuters are facing big delays this morning as Tube workers continue strike action.

TfL Rail are warning those travelling from Ilford to use alternative transport including the 86 bus service.

With no service at stations including Woodford, South Woodford, Newbury Park and Hainault, Ilford is expected to remain extremely busy.

The dispute is said to be over the “forced” transfer of eight drivers from their home depots at the eastern end of the line, including a depot in Hainault, to others in central London, meaning they have further to travel.

Customers are advised to take a bus to Barking and use the District or Hammersmith & City line.

Cllr Khayer Chowdhury described the station as “chaos” right now whilst commuters are sharing their woes on Twitter.

Normal service is expected to resume on Thursday morning.
