Youngsters left their Oyster cards at home as a bus crammed with instruments and iPads offered them a lift on Tuesday, courtesy of City Gates Church.
The orange double-decker, on loan from Northern Ireland, is part of a week-long series of events aimed at youngsters – including a concert at Redbridge Town Hall, in High Road, Ilford, on Thursday, from 7pm.
Children hopped on and off the state-of-the-art bus throughout Tuesday, as it travelled from Loxford to Ilford Town Centre. Budding musicians were even able to take advantage of a recording studio on board.
The week of events, known as Adopt A Block, culminates today with a community fun day and barbecue at Loxford Youth Centre, Loxford Lane, Ilford, from 2-8pm.
