A Clayhall couple are pleading for the return of their beloved pet dog, who disappeared after a burglary two weeks ago.

As the Recorder reported last month, Shirley, 75, and Lenny Hodgson, 88, of Tiverton Avenue, Clayhall returned to their house on January 19 to find their front door smashed in and their beloved Yorkshire terrier, Perdie, gone.

It is not known whether the nine-year-old dog wandered off or was stolen but the couple are offering a sizable reward for her safe return.

Mr Hodgson said: “It has been a traumatic experience. Why people would take Perdie is a complete mystery. She’s a lovely little thing and wouldn’t hurt a fly.

“We don’t want people to think she is a stray as she has no collar. We just desperately want her back.”
