A woman from Chigwell has died in hospital after a crash near Epping.
The 20-year-old, who has not been named by police, was seriously injured in the accident involving two cars at 6.15am on Wednesday.
She was taken to the Royal London Hospital but died that afternoon.
A man and a woman from Harlow also suffered serious injuries in the crash in Epping Road.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which involved a white Fiat 500 and red Hyundai 110 between Epping and Crown Hill.
