Pupils at Chigwell School put on three public performances of Fantastic Mr Fox

Young performers showed off their talents while delighting audiences with a stage production of a classic children’s book.

Junior school students from Chigwell School, High Road, Chigwell, put on three shows of their take on Fantastic Mr Fox last week.

The Roald Dahl story, adapted as a play by David Wood, follows the attempts of three farmers, Boggis, Bunce and Bean, one fat, one short, one lean, to get rid of the fox which regularly steals food from their farms.

But Mr Fox has a cunning plan to ensure he can bring a feast to his friends and family.

The show, directed by Janey Foster, was the result of three months of rehearsals and hard work, with Lewis Zacharia and Jake Sugar starring as Mr Fox.

Director of drama Joe Maingot said: “With a big cast, innovative set and colourful costumes, not to mention on stage JCBs, the cast entertained full houses and were brilliantly directed by Miss Janey Foster.

“My thanks go to everyone involved with the production.”
