Chigwell School has come out tops in the science world after three pupils won the regional heat of a national competition.
Joe Gidney, Sophie Halls and Tiffany Shum completed a practical exam which took more than three hours last week.
A school spokesman said the teenagers were an asset to the school.
“There were 280 schools taking part in 18 regional heats, with only one winning. Our pupils did so well to win the heat.”
Head of Sixth Form, Andrew Long said: “The students worked very effectively together and were praised for their teamwork as well their individual contributions.”
