Police appeal for help tracking down carjackers who stole taxi at knifepoint in Chigwell

Detectives from Essex Police are appealing for information after a taxi-driver had his vehicle stolen from him at knifepoint in Chigwell on Sunday morning (July 8).

It happened in Luxborough Lane at around 1.15am.

The victim had picked up two men in Broomfield Avenue, Loughton, but when at the junction of Luxborough Lane and High Road, one of the men threatened him with the knife.

The other man then punched him in the head before they took his car, a black Toyota Prius, and made off.

The first man has been described to us as black, of medium built and in his early 20s while the second man has been described as black, slim and in his mid-late teens.
