Chigwell driver arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving

A man from Chigwell has been arrested after a pedestrian died in a collision with a car in Brentwood last night.
Emergency services were called to London Road shortly after 9.10pm on Friday, March 16 to reports that a Mercedes had been in collision with a pedestrian.
Sadly, a man in his 60s, died at the scene, despite the efforts of officers and paramedics.
The 25-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
