A church, which managed to raise just under 4,000 thanks to its Christmas market, is hoping to use the money to enhance the local environment.
The annual event was held at St Peter’s Church, Aldborough Road North, Newbury Park in November, raising 3,838, some of which will be spent on replacing a large number of lime trees around the church grounds.
The old trees, which were around 140 years old and rotten, will be replaced by flowering cherry trees in the spring.
