Musicians and singers from across the borough are uniting to play classics old and new at a series of weekly jam sessions.

Thirteen revellers united at The Cranbrook Centre, in Valentines Park, to take part in Redbridge Music Lounge on Wednesday, April 11.

Over the course of a four-hour session, the group played songs by the Beatles, Elvis and Elton John to more contemporary tracks by artists such as Gnarls Barkley.

“We are open to anyone. People from all age groups can bring their musical instruments,” said founder and chairman Chris Wyatt.

“People bring along their requests and we all help and support each other.”

Chris is also involved in the organising the Redbrige Green Fair Music Club, which is gearing up to take place at Cranbrook Castle Tennis Club, in Gants Hill, on Friday, April 20 at 7.45pm.
