Women across the borough celebrated their achievements and enjoyed a range of activities as part of an event to mark International Women’s Day.
More than 50 members and supporters of charity Awaaz came together at the weekend to share their personal experiences, listen to advice on domestic violence and health and socialise with like-minded people.
They also enjoyed music, dancing and a poem reading at the event at Vine Church Hall, in Halstock Road, Ilford.
Chair Bushra Tahir said: “We are over the moon, it went really well. Our members helped to raise some funds for us so we are really happy.”
The charity, which aims to promote and protect the rights of women, also laid on a certificate ceremony for some of its most dedicated volunteers.
