A niece will be walking 10 kilometres in aid of the hospice which looked after her aunt before she died of cancer.
Sarah Hegewald, of Chadwell Heath is going on the sponsored walk to raise money for Saint Francis, Havering-atte-Bower who cared for her aunt Sheila Smith before she died last year. Miss Hegewald will be joined by her mother Bonnie and sister Abigail, as well as hundreds of other women, on the Star Walk taking place on July 6.
“She spent her final days at home and the hospice nurses visited daily to look after her,” Miss Hegewald said. “The medical team not only took care of my aunt, but was always around when we needed to talk and always made time for us”.
