A Chadwell Heath supermarket has been holding charity collections and events this week to raise money for the RSPCA.
Shoppers at Sainsbury’s, in High Road, chose the Campbell Clinic, in Harold Hill, as the charity of the year and staff organised the events as part of the annual RSPCA week.
Customers donated change, tins of pet food and old towels to the shelter, which sees more than 200 animals a week.
Yesterday, there was a second-hand book sale and raffle at the store and today a Bollywood buffet and quiz is being held for staff.
Store manager Gareth Powell said: “RSPCA Campbell Clinic is such a worthy local cause and we’re pleased and proud to be supporting it.”
