A woman who hid in a department store until it closed has been fined just £3 for shoplifting.
Heather Chapman, 48, of Mannin Road, Chadwell Heath, was also ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge after targeting Bodgers, in Station Road, Ilford.
Police were called to the store just before midnight on April 23. Staff had found Chapman with a bag of items after the alarm was activated.
She admitted theft and shoplifting at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
