The Central Line has reopened between Liverpool Street and Hainault and Woodford after being closed through the morning rush hour because of a person under a train.

Severe delays are reported in both directions.

A woman died after being hit by a tube train at Leyton station shortly after 8am this morning.

The station was closed while paramedics and emergency services tried to save her but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her name has not yet been released.

The Central Line was also severely delayed in yesterday evening’s rush hour because of a signalling problem at North Acton.
