A MAN was taken to hospital after the car he was driving ended up on its roof as it travelled along the A406.

It is not known if any other car was involved in the accident, which happened between the Redbridge roundabout and Ilford slip road at about 3.45pm yesterday.

The driver was able to scramble out of his Saab after the accident.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said the man was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital, Leytonstone, though his injuries are not thought to be serious.

The road – which had one lane closed at the scene of the accident – was reopened at just after 6pm.
