A burst water main flooded a road in Clayhall this morning.
Water started spilling out onto Lord Avenue, Clayhall, outside Parkhill Junior School, at around 9am.
Resident, Erol Myster, who reported the problem to Thames Water, said: “I reported it shortly after 9am this morning and Thames Water said they would be there within four hours.
“The road is quite badly flooded and you think the company would try and get here sooner especially after our recent drought.”
The company are reported to have arrived at the site just before 1pm to try and repair the problem.
