Police have released images of thousands of pounds worth of stolen jewellery taken from a home in Barkingside.

Detectives investigating the burglary in Colvin Gardens on Saturday, December 12, last year, say the homeowner returned to the property to find muddy footprints on the stairs and alerted police after hearing noises from upstairs.

Officers found that the thieves forced entry through a rear window upstairs before ransacking the house and taking £30,000 worth of Asian gold.

No arrests have been made and inquires continue.

Detectives are urging anyone with information on the incident, which took place between 10.30am and 5.30pm, to come forward and call 101.
