A BUILDER was fined after being convicted of racially abusing a police officer.

Constantin Doru Alexandru, 34, of Endsleigh Gardens, Ilford appeared at Redbridge Magistrates Court in Cranbrook Road, Ilford, on January 11.
The court heard Redbridge Police Officers were patrolling Ilford Town Centre when they were called to reports of a man wielding a knife in the Marks & Spencer shop in High Road.
When officers arrived they found Alexandru knifeless but drunk.

He became uncooperative and racially abused the police officer dealing with him and was arrested.
Alexandru was fined �300 plus �85 costs after being found guilty by the court.
