Ilford children are getting their “groove on” for a good cause later this month.

The 10th Ilford Rainbows and Brownies are joining the nationwide Dress Up and Dance event for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The children will wear their favourite dancing outfit on Saturday to perform a fun routine.

Primary schools are also invited to get involved in the day, which raises money through each child giving a £2 donation to take part and collecting sponsorship from friends and family.

Ilford Brownie leader Amanda Shepherd said: “Macmillan is a charity which is close of many of our families’ hearts.

“This is a really nice way for all the girls to get involved, have fun, get some exercise and raise some money for such a worthy cause.”

Macmillan is encouraging children in Ilford to join Dress Up and Dance.

The charity provides medical, financial and emotional support to people living with cancer across the country.
