Bromley’s winless streak stretched to four games with a 2-1 defeat at Farnborough. Jay May was denied by home goalkeeper Kevin Scriven early on and an Albert Jarrett cross just evaded Brendan Kiernan.

Kiernan had a strong penalty appeal turned down as the Ravens continued to press, but they could not make the breakthrough.

And seven minutes after half-time, Farnborough took the lead. Matt Ball’s free-kick caused confusion in the Bromley penalty area, and the ball bounced past Joe Welch.

Rob Swaine and Bradley Goldberg both missed chances before the hosts doubled their lead.

Dan Bennett broke down the right flank, before crossing the ball to JJ Hooper who poked the ball home from close range.

Substitute Louis Dennis reduced the arrears with a close range strike after May had an effort saved, but the former missed the chance to grab a point at the death, firing over from a good position with Scriven stranded.

Bromley drop to second in the Conference South, one point below Eastleigh having played two games more. They welcome Eastbourne Borough to Hayes Lane tomorrow night before facing Maidenhead United on Saturday.
